WELCOME TO OUR CORNER OF FELINE MIDDLE-EAST…
Our passion for feline was born many years ago and we begun cats breeding in 1999. In 2003 we felt in love with the Turkish Angora breed because of its peculiar and elegant look and because of its sweet and intelligent temperament. Since then we breed Turkish Angorsa exclusively, paying a special attention to our cats’ temperament (they have to be sweet, kind and gentle but still active and curious as these traits have made the breed a “one-of-a-kind” for centuries).
Our cattery was registered in 2004 under CFA with the name “1001 Notte” - italian for a thousand and one night, the famous arabian book - and was recognised by FIFE (throught ANFI, the italian branch of FIFé) at the beginning of 2006 with the name “Catal Hoyuk” - from a magnificent arecheological site in Turkey, thought to be the first ever human town. We are member of two important associations aimed to defend and promote the Turkish Angora breed: C.A.Ra.T. (Club Amatori del gatto di Razza Turca, which is an italian club recognised by ANFI) and T.A.F.I. (Turkish Angora Fanciers International, a breed club within CFA).
All our cats come from the best european and american bloodlines. They are tested against Felv, Fiv, Hcm and Pkd, while our whites have a bilateral audiometric hearing certificate (BAER). We breed for the still rare silvers and smokes, bicolors and traditional whites.
